Our Process: Tailoring Protection to Your Needs
Our approach to custom hearing protection begins with a detailed assessment of your lifestyle and hearing needs. Using traditional techniques refined by years of practice, we craft earmolds that offer superior comfort and protection.
While we no longer offer 3D molding, our expertise and meticulous attention to detail ensure a perfect fit, tailored specifically for you.
Why Custom Hearing Protection Matters
Second only to presbycusis (age-related hearing loss), noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) from a single extreme noise event or prolonged exposure to loud noise is the most common cause of all acquired hearing loss cases and the number one cause for hearing loss in individuals from 17 to 65 years of age.
The most common cause of NIHL is related to ongoing occupational noise, affecting construction and factory workers, law enforcement, airport employees, and musicians, to name a few. However, noise damage to your ears can also come from recreational noise, like the noise from major sporting events, concerts, nightclubs, hunting and shooting sports, motorsports, and others.
Why Comfort Matters
Over-the-counter foam or silicone earplugs might provide some protection against the damage caused by NIHL, but they don’t always provide enough protection or the right kind of protection, and they can be very uncomfortable to wear. If your hearing protection isn’t comfortable, you probably won’t use it. Custom hearing protection provides the best level of protection from noise damage and the greatest level of comfort so you’ll have your hearing protection in place when you need it most.
Whether you are a musician, work in a noisy environment, enjoy attending loud events, or participate in hunting and shooting sports or motorsports, our custom earmolds offer the protection you need without compromising the quality of the sounds you want to hear.
Why should I wear hearing protection?
Loud noise destroys the very sensitive and irreplaceable hair-like cells in the inner ear. As these cells disappear, your inner ear becomes less efficient at receiving and transmitting sound signals to your brain. Your risk of losing your hearing begins with ongoing exposure to noise levels above 85 decibels (dB) for more than eight hours without hearing protection. Unfortunately, with each 3 dB increase in volume, the time of exposure necessary for hearing damage decreases by half. How much time can you be exposed to the noise of various activities without hearing protection before damage occurs?
