During the first month, there will be multiple follow-up appointments to make sure that you are hearing the best you can. We will listen to you as you share your experiences over the initial weeks and we will complete Real-Ear Measurements to fine-tune and adjust your hearing aids as needed.

All concerns are important when it involves your hearing ability and comfort. Our goal is to address these concerns as soon as possible so they don’t develop into major problems over time or lead you to stop wearing your hearing aids. The follow-up appointment is your chance to voice any issues and receive help from a professional.

Regular Deep Cleaning

Todays hearing aids are mini-computers composed of many small, delicate parts. The microphone and receiver on these devices require special care. They are very small openings and can get plugged with wax, skin debris, and dirt/dust pretty easily. Every time you come in we complete a thorough cleaning of all the components making sure they are in top working order.

Monitoring Hearing Aid Performance

Hearing aids are set with specific parameters by each manufacturer. On occasion, and over time, hearing aids will start to come out of those specific specifications, which will then lead to reduced performance and problems hearing. Some issues you may notice are:  reduced amplification, distortion from the device, and static noise. Regular hearing aid checks will ensure they are performing as expected.

Updating Prescriptions as Your Hearing Changes

We recommend annual hearing screenings for all patients. This routine testing helps us stay on top of any changes with your hearing. If there is a notable change to your hearing we will update the prescription and adjust your hearing aids accordingly.
